Travel adapters have come a long way in the 20-plus years I've been traveling internationally. Travelers now pack more devices than ever before — and the need for a single charging solution has become increasingly important.
That’s where the new EPICKA Pulse Duo 140W Universal Travel Adapter comes into play. The latest addition to EPICKA's popular lineup delivers a big jump in charging power over previous models, along with a handful of upgrades designed for today's tech-heavy travelers.
A quick refresher, in case you've never used one: A travel adapter reshapes your plug so a U.S. cord fits a foreign wall socket. It doesn't change the electricity itself — more on that below.
But while the new adapter is EPICKA's most capable model yet, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a necessity for everyone. Here are my thoughts…
Based on the name, the biggest upgrade is probably quite obvious: 140 watts of charging power.
Other EPICKA Pulse adapters offer up to 45W or 65W of output, which is more than enough for charging phones, tablets, and wireless earbuds. But the new EPICKA Pulse Duo 140W takes things up a notch and is able to deliver enough power to fast-charge larger laptops — thanks to USB Power Delivery 3.1.
Now, travelers can pack just the EPICKA Pulse Duo 140W instead of bringing both a travel adapter and a separate laptop charger.
The adapter also charges up to six devices simultaneously through a combination of three USB-C ports, one USB-A port, and two AC outlets. And similar to the previous EPICKA travel adapters, EPICKA says it covers more than 200 countries and regions. One gap worth knowing: It doesn't include the Type D or Type M plugs used in India and South Africa.
And right now, you can purchase the EPICKA Pulse Duo 140W with an extra 10% discount by applying code GOSTAND10OFF at Amazon. This brings the cost down to $125.99. Note: This coupon code is only for the version with the desktop stand (which ends up being less expensive than the standard version).
The extra charging capacity is the headline upgrade, but it isn't the only one.
The EPICKA Pulse Duo 140W includes a built-in color display that shows real-time charging information, such as temperature monitoring and power output for each connected device. While certainly not essential, it's a useful addition.
The adapter ships with a 240W USB-C cable and a carrying pouch. The desktop stand comes with the GoStand version linked above — the standard version doesn't include it.
It depends…
Most travelers don't need 140W of charging power. If your travel tech consists of a smartphone, smartwatch, wireless earbuds, and perhaps a tablet, one of EPICKA's lower-powered adapters will likely meet your needs while costing less. For the casual traveler, the EPICKA Pulse Duo 45W remains a great option. Or, the EPICKA Pulse Duo 65W is a solid middle ground since you can still charge a MacBook Air.
However, if you frequently travel with a larger laptop or several USB-C devices, the EPICKA Pulse Duo 140W is a worthwhile upgrade. The extra wattage will not only support faster charging, but also provides more flexibility when charging several devices at once.
Just remember that, like other travel plug adapters, it doesn't convert voltage. For that, you’ll need a separate converter — such as the EPICKA 2000W Pure Sine Wave Voltage Converter — for any electronics that aren’t dual-voltage.
